It's a SFH206K Photo Diode, It works on the principle of the photoelectric effect. The operating principle of the photodiode is such that when the junction of this two terminal semiconductor device is illuminated then the electric current starts flowing through it. Its used to accept the light or photo after accepting it converts the light signal in to the electrical signal it mostly used at receiving end or on destination. Its used in Electronic Equipment Industrial Automation (Machine controls, Light barriers, Vision controls)
