USB TO UART TTL 5V 3.3V FT232RL USB To Serial Adapter for Arduino is a basic module for the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial IC, Revision 2. The pinout of this board matches the FTDI cable to work with Arduino boards.
This board has the DTR pin which allows an auto reset the Arduino when a new sketch is uploaded in the Arduino. Thus there is no need to hit the reset button while uploading the code in Arduino. This module supports both 3.3V and 5V (both power output and IO level).
The pins labelled BLK and GRN correspond to the coloured wires on the FTDI cable. The black wire on the FTDI cable is GND, green is CTS. Use these BLK and GRN pins to align the FTDI basic board with your Arduino target.
